Evolution Game of Virtues
Based on an activity by Selma Said in "Meu coração perguntou" (My heart has asked). Ed. Vozes, Brazil
Age: 10 to 14
Purpose: To comprehend some virtues and their function in our spiritual evolution.
What we will need
- Kraft paper
- glue
- stripes of paper
- paper with the questions and answers (to the teacher)
What we gonna do
- Divide the group in two or three teams. Draw in the kraft paper a stair with ten steps. Give one draw to each team.
- Hand out ten stripes of paper to each team. Have each student to write their answers in those pieces of papers that should be the same height of the steps and large enough to fit the words.
- Explain that the class will play a game. You will give some clues to them to find out the name of the virtues. Each team will have 20 seconds to discuss and answer in one word the name of the virtue that you are referring to.
(Below there is the 10 questions and answers)
- The right answers will be glued in the stair from bottom to top. The wrong ones will not be used. The team that reach the highest step will win.
- Ask one person from each team to draw a little person in the step where the team could go.
- In the end, the winner team will hug the other teams.
- Dialog: "When we see these stairs, we can understand a little how the spirits evolve morally. How much virtues we carry in our hearts means how much we have already evolved. However, it is not enough only have this virtues, we have to practice and improve them.
- Option: hiding the final result of the stairs, the team that remember of the virtues that are lost in its stair and write them down in a sheet will gains extra points.
